Mansfield, Worksop, Retford and Newark all sit a fair way from Nottingham city centre, and I get out to all of them regularly. If your party is further into the county rather than in the city itself, you're still well within my usual working area from Derby.

The Show, Piece by Piece
Magic (about 45 minutes) - built around comedy and getting the children involved rather than having them sit and watch quietly. The birthday child gets pulled up to help several times through the show.
Games - no one gets knocked out and sent to the side. I run games where every child stays in until the end, with music and prizes handled by me.
Balloons - a model for each child to take away, on top of the show and games rather than instead of them.
Snowy - a Netherland Dwarf rabbit who joins selected bookings for a meet-and-greet once everything else has wrapped up. Ask when you enquire whether he's available for your date.
A Word on Booking Well Ahead of a Nottinghamshire Party
Nottinghamshire covers a lot of ground, and market towns like Mansfield and Newark can mean a longer drive than a Nottingham suburb - which is exactly why it pays to lock a date in early rather than leaving it to the last few weeks. Popular Saturday afternoon slots go first, particularly in the summer term and around Christmas.

A few things that make the difference between a smooth setup and a scramble:
Check there's a spot where the children can all see without craning round each other - doesn't need to be huge, just clear sightlines.
If tables are being used for food, find out whether they'll be cleared or moved before the entertainment starts.
Ask the venue about their policy on plugging in music equipment, particularly in smaller village halls with older wiring.
Confirm how much time either side of your slot you actually have, including setup and pack-down - some halls charge for overrun.
Questions Nottinghamshire Parents Ask
Is Sherwood Forest or a country park venue something you can work with?
Yes - outdoor and marquee bookings are possible with a bit of extra planning around power access and weather backup. Mention the venue type when you enquire and I'll talk through what's needed.
Do you do multiple bookings on the same day, and does that affect timing?
I do sometimes take on two bookings in a day if the timings and locations allow for it comfortably. If your slot needs to start at a precise time, let me know early so I can plan the day around it properly.
We're right on the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire border near Retford - is that too far?
It's towards the edge of my usual range, but not out of reach. I'll confirm a travel cost specific to your postcode rather than guessing.
Can you do a shorter slot for a smaller gathering?
Yes, the format can be scaled down for a smaller group or a tighter time slot - just say how long you've got and how many children when you enquire.
How do I actually book once I know I want to go ahead?
I'll ask for a deposit to secure the date once we've agreed details, with the balance due before or on the day - I'll explain exactly how when you enquire.
